About this work

A Japanese woodblock print shows a mounted samurai in lacquered armor and a blue lacquered hat riding a dark horse, accompanied by a second armored archer on foot. Both carry bows and quivers of arrows through tall grass under a pale sky with birds in flight, and a column of vertical text sits at the upper left beside a decorative blue border.
