About this work

A bold two-tone woodcut-style print titled Overland: January by Maynard Dixon shows a dark silhouetted figure in a cloak warming his hand at a tall campfire, with a second figure behind him. Yellow flames and grass contrast with a black ground and a blue band of sky, and the title is set in large yellow capitals along the bottom.
