About this work
This lithograph shows the Church of Saint-Nectaire perched on a hilltop above a rugged, rocky slope, with a ruined wall beside its Romanesque facade and bell tower. A horseman and a few small figures travel the foreground path beside a stream crossed by fallen tree trunks, under a heavily clouded sky. The print is attributed to Eugène Isabey, labeled as the Église de Saint-Nectaire in Auvergne, and is held by Wikimedia Commons.
