An etched oval portrait of a young boy in a striped doublet with a lace collar, set within a wreath of leaves and rose buds tied with a ribbon at the base. Printed text above and below the image gives the title John Milton, the attribution to Giovanni Battista Cipriani, and a passage of verse. The work is dated MDCCLX (1760) on the inscription and is based on a painting by Cornelius Johnson from 1618.
