This engraved print, plate 24 from The Passion of Christ by Grégoire Huret, shows the risen Christ rising upward with a billowing cloth, surrounded by radiant light and winged angels. Below him, startled soldiers lie sprawled and recoil on the ground, while women look on from the upper center. The Latin text at the bottom quotes the Gospel of Matthew describing the earthquake and the guards who became as dead.
