This print is an etching in sepia tones showing a seated man with his head bowed over his arms, grieving beside a reclining female figure pierced by an arrow. A dog lies at the lower right and a tree trunk frames the left edge, with a faint landscape behind. The inscription beneath identifies the subject as Cephalus mourning the death of Procris, and notes it was after a drawing by Guercino, with the painting listed in the Dresden gallery.
