About this work

This engraved drawing shows the front elevation of a multi-storey building with rows of small-paned windows and a central heraldic achievement carved above an inscribed tablet bearing a Latin motto. Smaller carved medallions and figural reliefs decorate the upper wall, while the lower storey opens onto shop-like bays. The work is by John Thomas Smith and dated 1791, from his Antiquities of London and its environs.
