About this work
This engraved monument shows a bust of a bearded man in a ruff collar and gown, set within a pointed gothic arch flanked by columns and heraldic shields. A tall pedestal below carries a dense Latin inscription and the date of death 1623 with age 74. The print is part of the Antiquities of London and environs series by John Thomas Smith, dated 1791.
