About this work

A monochrome ink drawing shows a turtle in side view, its shell rendered with layered grey wash and its limbs and head outlined in darker strokes. A thin cord descends from the top of the sheet and appears to suspend the creature from its shell, while a long tail extends diagonally toward the lower left.
