About this work
A soft pastel composition shows a glowing cluster of figures in the lower center, including a seated woman and a sleeping child bathed in yellow light, surrounded by small winged figures. Pale blue and grey strokes fill a dark, misty sky framed by shadowy tree trunks. The work is attributed to Gaston La Touche and is catalogued under the title Le sommeil de l'Enfant Jésus.
