About this work

A pen and ink drawing with grey wash shows a cloaked, curly-haired figure in the left foreground gazing upward at a swirling mass of souls. Two lovers, a nude woman with outstretched arms and a man with a grasping embrace, rise through a dark, cloud-filled sky above a cluster of tangled figures.
