About this work

A watercolor-style scene shows a rural roadside gathering beneath a leafless tree, with a thatched hut at right where figures rest, nurse infants, and tend a horse. Travelers in hats and cloaks walk along a dirt track toward a distant town with towers, while another hut and seated figures appear at left.
