About this work

This ink and wash drawing presents three studies of figures in a rural landscape, including a kneeling figure in the foreground, a reclining figure on a grassy slope, and a standing youth in a hat at right. The grey wash gives the figures volume and the rough ground a soft atmospheric tone.
