About this work

This panel presents a dense arrangement of studies of donkeys, monkeys and cats across a warm ochre ground, with several animals rendered in finished paint and others in loose, lightly outlined sketches. The donkeys appear in varied poses and angles, while the monkeys are shown seated, crouching and in profile.
