About this work

Concentric Group, a 1925 work by Oskar Schlemmer, shows several smooth, mask-like figures seen from behind, their faces turned in profile and their heads overlapping in layers. The flat, angular backdrop of black, grey and white planes gives the composition a stage-like, architectural quality.
