About this work
This black-and-white lithograph shows a tall, stepped stone pyramid with recessed niches rising above a dense tropical forest. Palms, vines and large trees frame the structure, and two small seated figures appear on a mound in the foreground. The print is dated 1836 and is attributed to Frederic Mialhe, after a drawing by C. Nebel.
