About this work
A green horse-drawn omnibus labeled KIDD, with the destinations Brentford, Turnham Green and Hammersmith on its side, pulls up before a whitewashed inn with a signboard reading Angel Inn. Passengers ride on the roof and inside, a coachman stands on the roadside, and a small dog and pedestrians occupy the wide dirt road, which is lined with large trees. This 1840 work by James Pollard depicts the scene in a painted style.
