About this work
An engraved half-length portrait shows a bearded man in a dark doublet with a deep lace ruff and a flowing cloak, his hands clasped at the chest. The printed caption below names Artus Wolfaert as a painter of human figures in Antwerp, and the plate credits Anthony van Dyck as painter and Cornelis Galle as engraver.
