About this work
This hand-coloured aquatint shows a hillside view of ruined palace buildings and a mosque with pointed arches and domed pavilions. Trees and rocks occupy the foreground, with a stretch of sea visible at the left edge under a cloudy sky. The work is credited to William Hodges and carries the title naming the ruins at Fatehpur Sikri.
