About this work
This engraved stage design shows a symmetrical colonnade of columns and statues leading to a multi-storied palace facade with arched openings and a central dome. Juno rides a chariot drawn by peacocks through the sky above, while small figures kneel on the stage floor. The print is by François Chauveau, dated 1651, and is titled as a set design for Act 4 of Corneille's Andromède.
