About this work

A black-and-white engraved illustration shows a riverbank with a wooden storage cache raised on posts, where several men work among crates and sacks. Wooden rowboats rest on the sandy shore, and tall conifers line the bank beside a wide river with distant hills on the horizon. The print is titled in French as caches along the banks of the Stewart River, drawn by Jouas after the author's sketch, and dated 1899.
