The vessels are labelled Fougueux, Belleisle, Indomptable, Santa Ana and Royal Sovereign, and the caption records the moment 15 minutes past noon on October 21st, 1805. The work is attributed to Edward Duncan as engraver, with the painter credited as W. J. Huggins.
