About this work

A barefoot woman with flowing auburn hair stands on a rock amid churning sea waters, arms spread wide toward a rainbow-ringed sky dotted with stars. Around her, dragon-like sea creatures with fanged jaws, fins and serpentine bodies rise from the waves. Evelyn De Morgan's 1914 print S.O.S. is held by Wikimedia Commons.
