About this work
An engraved print shows a man playing violin beside a young boy seated at a harpsichord, while a girl turns pages of sheet music at the instrument beneath a classical column. The caption in French identifies Leopold Mozart, father of Marianne Mozart, a virtuoso aged eleven, and J.G. Wolfgang Mozart, a composer and music master aged seven. The print is credited to Louis Carrogis de Carmontelle, with engraving by Delafosse dated 1764.
