About this work

This lithograph-style drawing shows a paved courtyard before the entrance of a mosque, with two tall, spiral-patterned minarets rising above an ornately decorated portal. Robed figures walk and sit across the stone pavement, a shallow pool lies near the foreground, and an arcaded colonnade and a tiled dome frame the left side. The work is attributed to Eugène Flandin and dated 1840.
