About this work
A monochrome lithograph shows a large domed building with arched openings rising above low flat-roofed houses and small domes on a dry plain. Camels, riders and figures in robes move across the foreground beside a shallow pool that reflects the structures, while hills rise in the distance. The print is attributed to Eugène Flandin and dated 1840.
