About this work

A nude male figure is shown in a lunging archer-like pose, one arm drawn back and the other extended toward the right edge of the sheet, rendered in soft tonal shading on a dark ground. He stands with one foot on a wooden block, and the muscular modeling of the torso and legs is emphasized.
