About this work

This Japanese woodblock print shows a moonlit coastal scene at night, with a windswept pine tree leaning over a grassy shore above still water. A streak of shooting star crosses the dark blue sky, and at the lower left a warrior's striped, lacquered armor and a long-handled weapon are partly visible. A vertical inscription cartouche appears at the upper right.
