About this work

An 18th-century interior shows a group of elegantly dressed musicians and listeners gathered in a richly decorated hall with a grand staircase, a tapestry, and an oval portrait medallion. A woman plays a harpsichord, a flautist and a cellist join in, and a child and a monkey sit among scattered fruit and sheet music. The work is titled The Concert, attributed to Johann Georg Platzer, dated 1750.
