This engraved print shows the Hôtel-Dieu seen from the Seine, with its long multi-story facade, dormer windows and arched stone supports rising from the water. A wooden footbridge crosses the river at right, and beneath it the remains of an earlier bridge abutment are visible. The work is dated 1877 and is credited to Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer.
