About this work
A narrow cobbled street lined with tall, weathered stone buildings recedes toward a distant church tower under a pale sky. Two figures in long dark clothing walk along the centre of the road, while a lamp bracket and arched doorway are visible on the right. The engraved print is labelled Rue de la Calandre and dated 1850, attributed to Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer.
