About this work

A sepia-toned architectural view shows a grand multi-story palace with mansard roofs, ornate chimneys and sculpted pediments, overlooking a broad river. A stone arched bridge spans the water, with carriages and pedestrians along the embankment, a rowboat and a moored barge on the river, and sailing masts at the right edge. This print by Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer, dated 1869, depicts the Palais des Tuileries.
