About this work
This engraved print shows the entrance hall of the Conciergerie as it appeared in 1830, with ribbed Gothic vaults supported by carved capitals and tall pointed windows. Soldiers stand near a central stone drum, while several seated and standing figures occupy the hall and a barred gate is visible on the left.
