About this work
This dark monochrome print shows two women in Breton dress set against a rocky shoreline and a dim sea, with tree trunks at the left edge. The bold, looping contour lines and textured hatching suggest a decorative, symbolist treatment of the figures and landscape. The work is a print by Armand Seguin, titled Décoration de Bretagne - Bretonnes au Bord de la Mer, dated 1894.
