About this work
This Japanese woodblock print shows several children in patterned kimono playing among large parasols decorated with calligraphy, beside a pine tree and a bamboo fence. Handwritten verses in black ink run across the upper part of the sheet, and a small fan-shaped cartouche appears at the upper right.
