About this work

An arched doorway in a rustic alpine farmhouse frames a sunlit mountain meadow with haystacks, grazing hens, and a distant farmer at work. Inside, a barefoot girl in a red bodice and green apron reads beside a woman in traditional dress who sits knitting, while a cat rests on the wooden floor.
