About this work
A pencil sketch on tan paper shows a ruined classical structure with a large central arch, smaller side arches, and broken upper walls. Shrubs grow at the left edge beside a low wall, and the handwritten inscription "Temp. Janus" appears at the lower right. The work is attributed to John Robert Cozens under the title Temple of Janus.
