About this work
A watercolor landscape shows a blue-toned mountain range under heavy clouds, with a ruined fortification on a rocky outcrop in the middle distance. Framing trees occupy the left and right edges, and two small figures rest on the grassy foreground at lower right. The work is attributed to John Robert Cozens and dated 1783.
