About this work
This watercolor and drawing shows a hazy riverside view of the Ile de la Cite, with a multi-arched stone bridge crossing the Seine toward Gothic towers and older city buildings. In the foreground, workers gather around barrels and a horse-drawn cart on a dusty quay.
