Anthony van Dyck's 1634 painting Lamentación sobre Cristo muerto shows the body of Christ laid across a white cloth, mourned by a grieving woman in a dark veil and a woman in a gold robe. Angels in red and blue drapery, one with large wings, gesture toward the body while a small putto points toward it, with a crown of thorns and a titulus reading INRI in the foreground.
