About this work
A painted view of a domed and minareted mosque complex with a central gateway pavilion and a broad flight of stone steps leading up to it. Two elephants, one richly draped with a howdah, rest in the dusty foreground beside robed attendants, while figures gather under thatched stalls at left and a large shade tree frames the right side.
