About this work
A bronze relief plaque set in a stone frame on a brick wall shows three figures in a studio: a seated painter at an easel holding a brush and palette, flanked by a younger man looking on and a standing figure holding a palette and brushes. The inscription below reads Til minde om C. W. Eckersberg, set up by Kunstforeningen in København in 1857, commemorating the artist Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg.
