About this work
An engraved allegorical scene shows a kneeling woman offering a sprig to a standing man in a fur-trimmed cloak beside a classical colonnade. A formal garden with cypress trees and a fountain extends behind them, and a flying putto holds a scroll reading 'Alias tibi fata reservant'. The print is attributed to Grégoire Huret and dated 1621.
