About this work
A pen and watercolor drawing shows a crenellated stone tower rising behind a whitewashed wall with an arched wooden door and dense foliage. A handwritten inscription in the lower right describes the site as a remnant of a castle on the rue de l'Orme-Maillard in Briis (Seine-et-Oise), dated 13 July 1893. The work is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
