About this work

This hand-coloured aquatint shows a view of Wick in Caithness, with sailing boats moored and moving across the bay and a stone pier extending toward the water. A cliff path in the foreground leads down to beached rowing boats and a small shelter, while the town and open fields stretch along the horizon. The print was drawn and engraved by William Daniell and published in London in 1821.
