About this work
This print shows Bamburgh Castle, a fortress built on a rocky outcrop above the sea, with its tall keep and curtain walls rising against a cloudy sky. Waves break over dark rocks in the foreground, and a small sailboat with a pale sail moves across the water. The work is attributed to William Daniell and dated 1822.
