About this work
This hand-coloured aquatint-style print by William Daniell, dated 1820, shows the jagged peaks of the Coolin rising above Loch Slapin. Small sailing boats with red and dark sails and a rowing boat with passengers occupy the water, while a standing figure and large boulders sit on the shore. Wisps of smoke or mist drift across the lower slopes.
