About this work
A pencil and wash drawing shows a paved street leading to a classical pedimented gateway with columns, beyond which rows of tombs and trees rise against a pale sky. Pedestrians walk along the street, including a figure with an umbrella and a woman carrying a hat, while a building with tall windows stands on the right. The work is by Jules-Adolphe Chauvet and dated 1896.
