About this work
A dynamic composition shows a helmeted female figure in flowing white drapery and a blue-trimmed bodice, leaping through the air with a spear extended. Below her, muscular nude and partly draped male figures sprawl and tumble among rocks, suggesting a violent struggle. This print, dated 1686, is attributed to Luca Giordano.
