A wood-engraved scene shows riders on horseback and a horse-drawn carriage traveling a dusty road among agave plants and rocky hills. A woman in a wide-brimmed hat and cloak rides in the center while armed men attend the group. This illustration by Gustave Doré dates to 1863 and was published in L'ingénieux hidalgo don Quichotte de la Manche.
